The Hope MacDougall Collection Highland Tour

This is a transregional project with the Western Isles Skye and Lochash Leader+, Northern Isles Leader + and North Highland Leader+. The aim of the project is to tour a professionally designed museum exhibition to ten venues across the Highlands and Island in 2006 and 2007.
The exhibition will focus on artefacts, photographs, and archive material related to the ordinary working and domestic lives of people from Shetland to Arran giving an insight into shared heritage and individual communities through the eclectic mind of the collector, Miss Hope MacDougall.
The design and development of the exhibition and marketing material will take place entirely at The Hope MacDougall Collection’s base in Argyll. The application to WHELK Leader + is for assistance towards the costs of employing a professional museum designer to develop the exhibition.
The costs relating to the touring element of the project will be covered by the other Leader+ LAGS .
