  • What happened in 2001 ?

    ~ Glimpse of the Past
    - through The Hope MacDougall Collection.~

A GLIMPSE of the past through artefacts from The Hope MacDougall Collection is not to be missed at tomorrow's meeting (Friday, 22nd. November, 2001) of the Lorn Archaeological and Historical Society. The fascinating collection of West Highland rural life was collected over a lifetime by the late Miss Hope MacDougall of Ganavan.

Although currently in storage it is hoped to start documenting and archiving the artefacts in the New Year and developing an outreach programme which will give the opportunity to take themes from the collection into the community.

News of this and a chance to see some of the collection at first hand will be presented to the Society on Friday November 22 at 7.30 in the Undercroft of the Church of Scotland Centre in Glencruitten Road, Oban.

All are welcome to attend. - The Oban Times, 22nd. November, 2001
